Executing a brand refresh with a completely new social media strategy to position the membership platform as an essential resource in the industry


To help IMDbPro refresh its social media presence, Digital Media Management ideated and launched a completely new social media strategy, including weekly serialized and engagement-based content tailored to entertainment industry professionals and film enthusiasts. Our approach further positioned the membership platform as one of the most essential resources in the industry.



IMDbPro’s primary goal was to grow their community and incentivize their fans to follow and engage with the brand account. Using this as our north star, our social media team successfully defined their brand within the social space with custom content strategically developed to help them reach their goals. We created several weekly content series that resonated with fans, kept a steady pulse on key industry moments, showcased diversity through the partners we worked with, and emphasized the tool’s evolution throughout the year. 

Another key objective was to create a new voice and tone on social that would resonate better with a broader audience. We transitioned IMDbPro’s social voice to be more inviting and approachable, encouraging those outside of the entertainment industry to engage with our content.

To help broaden IMDbPro’s social footprint outside of its owned pages, we frequently collaborated with other DMM teams (talent, television, and theatrical) to find cross-promotional opportunities to promote relevant projects and titles.


Over the past year, we increased IMDbPro’s social impressions by 222%, engagements by 985%, and follower growth by 26% across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. These numbers reflect the success of our first year with IMDbPro and prove that we’ve created passionate and loyal advocates along the way.
