NBC partnered with Digital Media Management (DMM) on a Virtual Junket aimed at transcending the mass TV audience hit Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist with buzz-worthy social original content for thirteen press outlets and their platforms to create excitement around the Finale.

OBJECTIVES

In partnership with NBC, DMM produced and executed a “Virtual Junket” for NBC’s finale of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist with stars of the show Jane Levy and Skylar Astin.

The Virtual Junket produced entertaining collaborations with a variety of digital press partners that included: Behind-the-scenes discussions with Theatermania and Extra, what it was like dancing on-set with Dance Spirit Magazine, the Alphabet Song challenge with Playbill, and favorite moments with Entertainment Weekly! The team created unique content in collaboration with press outlets across health, entertainment, female-centric, comedy, and lifestyle verticals. With the Virtual Junket, talent was able to conduct the necessary promotional levers remotely from their homes that they usually execute traditionally.

Results

During a time when physical production has been challenging and restricted, the Virtual Junket has provided essential solutions to many challenges that studios and networks have faced with the traditional press junket model. This includes maximizing talent’s time while developing and promoting original content, creating a way for partners to participate comfortably and safely from their own homes, and easing the pressure clients may have with entertainment marketing barriers so that they can focus on their shows.
