The Meteor: United States of Abortion


DMM partnered with The Meteor to craft creatives and engage Social Outreach partners in support of their series "United States of Abortion," which focused on one couple's experience in Alabama.

Overview

Over the years, DMM has worked with Pop Culture Collab to support underrepresented artists, musicians, filmmakers, and activists through grants for creative projects like The Meteor’s “United States of Abortion.” Each year, we select a few projects to provide tailored, low-cost solutions that amplify unheard voices and spark meaningful change.

Objectives

With the goal of engaging undecided voters ahead of the presidential election, DMM amplified The Meteor’s short film by curating supplemental creative opportunities in addition to their hero piece, optimizing its reach and discoverability. These pieces were given exclusively to our Social Outreach partners, which included relevant creators and celebrities.

Results

To ensure The Meteor’s impactful story would reach new audiences, we curated and pitched a list of targeted social editorial outlets and earned creators aligned with story messaging, including relevant verticals such as social good, reproductive rights, and female empowerment. 

Social Outreach Highlights:

  • 6 total posts with a combined following of 7.7M followers
  • Secured a collab post with Feminist (5.8M followers)
  • Secured earned support from influential accounts like Kyra Sedgwick (823K followers) & Paola Mendoza (86K)
