A fan-first social campaign that injected excitement and fueled conversation for the biggest event of the year in WWE: WrestleMania!

Overview

It’s the Super Bowl of WWE and Digital Media Management, in its partnership with the USA Network, completed another successful campaign surrounding WrestleMania 39! We gave our audience unique looks at the WWE Superstars and provided the broader wrestling audience a place to come for the content they couldn’t find anywhere else.

OBJECTIVES

Building on our success from last year’s WrestleMania, we crafted a fan-forward community and creative approach with call-to-action statics, archival clips, and talent reads to drive engagement. Throughout our live event coverage, fans were able to voice their favorite memories, tested their knowledge against tricky WrestleMania facts that WWE hasn’t previously made available, and choose who would come out victorious in our interactive Instagram Stories. With Twitter as our most fan-engaged platform, we pulled out all the stops to keep the conversation alive and consistent, which led to an unprecedented volume of engagements during the two-night Premium Live Event.

We also enticed fans of the WWE Universe to come to our channels to get a special peek at the WWE Superstars looking back at their childhood WrestleMania memories. By bringing fans into the world (both inside and outside the ring) of our beloved talent, our talent-led videos became some of the network’s all-time top-performing posts on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

RESULTS

USA Network saw record numbers with WrestleMania 39, with many of our Twitter posts and Instagram Stories ending up among the highest-performing USA Network posts of all time. e generated 6M in views (up 9% from the previous year), 1.2M engagements (up 245% from the previous year), and 13M impressions (up 83% from the previous year).
